Description:
Most species have long, spirally curved abdomens, which are soft, unlike the hard, calcified abdomens seen in related crustaceans. The vulnerable abdomen is protected from predators by a salvaged empty seashell carried by the hermit crab, into which its whole body can retract. Most frequently, hermit crabs use the shells of sea snails (although the shells of bivalves and scaphopods and even hollow pieces of wood and stone are used by some species). The tip of the hermit crab s abdomen is adapted to clasp strongly onto the columella of the snail shell. Most hermit crabs are nocturnal.
Habitat:
At Cove Bay, near the sea shore, at the foot of the Volcano, Mount Scenery, on Saba in the Caribbean Sea.

GOSFORD, Australia â The Rev. Rod Bower, Australiaâs most famous gadfly in a clerical collar, strolled behind a crowd of demonstrators at a busy street corner, admiring their handmade protest signs.

Description:
Near Threatened. This beautiful, partially translucid relative of Parnassius apollo is much less frequently encountered than its larger cousin. It is a specialist of higher altitudes, found above tree level and close to flowing water. Finding its larval host plant (in Switzerland: Yellow Mountain Saxifrage, Saxifraga aizoides) in July will almost guarantee the sighting of this species nearby. It can be distinguished from P. apollo by a red-centered spot on the forewings near the apex, more boldly striped black and white antennae, and its hectic and nervous flight. The very reduced black spot at the center of the forewing indicates this is a male (this spot is much more pronounced in females).

One economic sign in this country paled in the last month of 2020 amid sharply lower auto sales.
Statistics Canada says wholesale trade fell 1.3% in December to $66.5 billion, for the first downward reading since April.
Vehicles are one of the largest categories of wholesale trade, and the nation s number crunchers say auto sales, as well as car and truck parts and accessories, were down 4.3% to $10.7 billion, the lowest level since July.
Despite the monthly dip, the agency says that wholesale trade was still up compared with the pre-pandemic levels of February 2020, amid a 12.2% surge in sales of building materials and supplies.
